Spring “Mission-Impossible”

TWO MONTHS AGO, in February we were still happily preparing for our Spring mission trip to Hungary.  We were supposed to board our flight to Warsaw and from there to Budapest on April 1st.  We have been preparing for this trip for several months, corresponding with Hungarian churches, setting up meetings, selecting and translating Gospel Tracts, comparing quotes from Hungarian printers, excitedly planning outreach events, and so on.

But since then, our entire world has changed.  Flights got cancelled, countries are closed, entire economies are shut down to the very essentials.  Healthcare systems and hospitals got overwhelmed with the seriously sick, and morgues and funeral homes became filled beyond capacity with those who didn’t win the fight.

As we are watching the ever-darkening cloud of this pandemic covering every country on the Globe, we have to make peace with the fact that we can’t go to Hungary this spring.

Until things get back to normal, we are using our time and energies to translate as many resources as we can and grow our online library of freely reproducible Christian resources in Hungarian.  This will also make a greater assortment of materials available for us to print for the time we will be allowed to travel again.
